Middletown Brewer’s Alley

Did you know about Middletown’s little strip of breweries? Located just minutes from downtown in an old mill building. It’s the perfect way to make a day-trip excursion without having to drive to multiple places – there are two breweries and a cidery steps from each other in the same building! The best part, there’s usually a food truck in the parking lot on weekends, too, so visitors won’t even need to drive elsewhere to eat.

Up first is Stubborn Beauty Brewing, located at the far back of the building.  They have a variety of beers available, a mix of India Pale Ales, stouts, and Belgian style beers. Be sure to grab a sampler of beers to enjoy some of everything!

Just a few steps away is Forest City Brewing. While a little bit smaller than Stubborn Beauty, the quality of product is just as good!

For those who may not enjoy beer, Spoke & Spy Ciderworks is an excellent alternative – focused on crafting high quality hard ciders using locally grown apples. They offer a wide variety of ciders, ranging from your standard dry or sweet to experimental ciders that add other ingredients such as spices, other fruits, and even aging in spirit and wine barrels.

It’s best to plan out a Saturday afternoon to visit these three purveyors of craft and locally made product. All three are located at 180 Johnson St, Middletown CT 06457.
