The Hamptons have long been known as the seaside playground for New York City’s rich and famous.  Where the housing market was once only available to the elite, now it is a buyer’s market in East Hampton with no waiting line.

The nation’s economy has finally caught up with the Hampton’s lifestyle, and East Hampton real estate is now more affordable for the discerning buyer.

In July, Suffolk County, which is where the Hamptons sit, there were 154 new foreclosures which is up 105% from last July.  Along this trend, the average housing price dropped 46% from $1.36 million from last year to $745,552 this year.

This buyer’s market in East Hampton won’t last forever, so now is the time to buy.
