It is possible to purchase insurance that will keep you from losing equity in your Central CT home.  Connecticut real estate has long been thought of as  a great investment but in recent years has proved to be a bit more volatile.  A company out of California has provided a solution to anyone who is uneasy about buying a new CT home and potentially losing money in the investment.  For 1% of the value of your Connecticut home, you can purchase insurance that protects you in case your house depreciates.

Working Equity Inc., is essentially selling insurance that guarantees the value of your Central Connecticut home later if you decide to sell.  Of course, there are a few regulations.  You must own your Connecticut home for at least two years, and it must be your primary residence.  Working Equity Inc. is selling peace of mind in an uncertain market, and that could be something that is worth 1% of your home value.

Many Central CT first time home buyers are encouraged that the regular First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit will be extended for regular citizens as well.

The hope for the extension would be to increase Central CT real estate sales and help stabilize the nation’s real estate market.

Connecticut homeowners that face bank foreclosure on their homes need to remember that there is help.

The state’s mediation program was put into place last year to assist distressed Connecticut homeowners to avoid foreclosures

This program encourages troubled homeowners to meet with their lenders to work out a solution to their financial woes.

According to data from Connecticut’s judicial department, 41% of 1,224 homeowners who used this program were able to avoid foreclosure by receiving a loan modification option from their lenders.

Art Tatta, a Connecticut real estate agent, can provide more information on Connecticut’s foreclosure mediation program

He reported to housing advocates on Monday “that he sees “some glimmer of hope that we may be bottoming out” in the residential mortgage crisis in the country.”
